Hi, I’m grace!

A mother and artist based in Bristol, Grace Ekall has worked as a choreographer, a model, and fashion and textiles designer. But her greatest artistic pursuit is to merge the world of movement with food and well-being.

“As a Cameroonian, and a former professional dancer/choreographer, Makossa is a rhythm that touches my heart. It accompanied me and made me smile during the most difficult days of my life. I always found myself dancing no matter how bad a day got.

For me, the music and dance of the Makossa are about taking charge, and being grateful for THE MOMENT! - happy, aware and accepting of your body, enjoying and feeling the nuances of the rhythms, and choosing to move on, or within, its rhythm. Dancing has always been my first love. So, I decided to make ‘Taste Makossa’ the name of the brand.

My Approach

My sauce connects rhythm and taste, the bursts of flavours are like a combination of moves. The unique texture and flavour blend well with a variety of dishes and it can be used as a condiment, cooking sauce, garnish or dip.

My Mission: Encourage people to make healthy home-cooked meals. My why: to facilitate a broader conversation about women’s health in Cameroon. My Message: Take responsibility for your health & well being.”
